Vitamin C Skin Care

Skin is very important part of our body and it contributes to around 16% of our body weight , it not only protects the body from external pollutants but protects internal organs of the body and helps to regulate temperature of our body.
There are 7 layers of skin and various skin disorders manifests in different layers of the skin like pimples , acne in the first layer and problem of under eye darkness, pigmentation in the second layer and so on.
Skin care is very important as it contributes to enhancing one’s personality. One of the important vitamin for healthy and glowing skin is vitamin C skin care.
Vitamin C ( L-ascorbic acid ) is a nutrient that your body is not able to produce itself and therefore you need to eat those healthy fruits and vegetables that contain it. Vitamin C is water soluble so it is continually washed out with other body fluids so it has to be taken consistently.


Vitamin C skin care Helps :
It works in two ways:

1. Antioxidant: Ultraviolet radiation can generate oxygen free radicals that cause aging of the skin. Vitamin C can act as a first defense, against some of these Vitamin E on the other hand, works against another type of radical.
2. Collagen. Collagen is a key component of most tissues. Vitamin C works as an essential factor for the normal formation,, maintenance and structural stability of collagen. So, it can be said that Vitamin C skin Care is best anti aging skin care.

Sources of Vitamin C
It is well known that citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tangerines, limes, mandarins and others contain vitamin C.
In fact, vitamin C comes almost exclusively from fruits and vegetables. Other good sources are tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, peppers, broccoli, asparagus, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, peas, rutabagas, cantaloupe, kiwi, papayas, potatoes, paprika and watermelon. Many other fruits and vegetables contain small amounts of vitamin C, too
